Easter Eggs and Sweet Treats!

This years Easter was a lot of fun with our families! My dad and his wife came down for the weekend and had a picnic! Coy loved it, even though his little nose and cheeks got a little sun!He enjoyed watching the water rush by him as we sat next to the bank enjoying our KFC, potatoe salad, olives and some super yummy cup cakes! We watched Jens, Justine, and Eric throw toys into the stream and down the water fall, and we really enjoyed watching my brother Cody and Kaylas husband Kody trying to get them out. Finally the Easter Egg Hunt!!!

Coy absolutely loved picking up the eggs, even though he never really figured out they needed to go into the basket before hitting his mouth... I think all of them have been Coyatized...
This blue egg was Coys favorite! Im not sure if he just like the feel of it on his gums or if he enjoyed the blue on his lips better! Every time we went to take it away Coy would get so upset that he wasnt chewing on it and  he would scream and then cry! We laughed and laughed for all the blue that was on his lips, tongue and his tiny fingers!
We then loaded up the vehicles and left. The picnic was over and Coy was so tired he slept for almost 3 hours! It was awesome! When he woke up we took off up to Pinto for the picnic time with Colby's family.. It was about 6 when we got there and the rain clouds moved in! So, we spent our time in the building with cousins where we ate, played games and told some stories of past get togethers. We also watched Tangled and gathered around the fire place. Unfortunetely this whole time Colby was gone to work so he didnt get to be with us this year for Easter, but he showed up at his dads picnic an hour earlier than he was suppose to! I was soooo happy! After Colby ate we visited for a few more minutes as his mom put Coy to sleep. Then we left because Colby had to get to bed because he had to work the next morning... When we got home we decided to give Coy his Easter basket that night so that Colby could enjoy being with him when he opened it up. Coy got, some T-shirts, a church outfit, and a whole ton of toys, oh and a toooonnnnn of candy!
I wanted to take a picture of colby, but he um... wasnt camera ready..at
all.. So.. here is Coy and I with his basket.. he got a ton more.. but it was scattered and it was all I could do to keep Coy from screaming from me taking him from it all! Finally.. after a bath, bottle and bed Coy crashed hard! He slept all night!!

Sunday morning came and my dad and his wife had stuff for him, they gave him more clothes! I couldnt believe it... this kid made out like a bandit! We then made some blueberry pancakes with my sister and her family and my dad and his wife. They were soooo yummy!!!! My sister and her family said their goodbyes to my dad and his wife and we got ready for church! We only went to sacrament but it was so spiritual, RueThella and Craig Laub did great! After church we said our goodbyes to my dad and his wife and got ready for another picnic! This time.. with my mom, her husband and my cousins. We drove down to Gunlock where we would be having the picnic. I got so carsick, and the two kids crashed out. Finally we got there!.. The wind was blowing and it was about to rain.. ugh... so we put up a tarp and all hung out underneith it. We ate cu all sorts of goodies until dinner time. We had steak, and potatoes and all sorts of other stuff. It was so good.. but the rain kept getting harder and harder then BBBBOOOMMM and CCCCRRASSSHHH the thunder and lightening came.. so.. we packed up the trucks and headed home... unfortunetely we werent able to have an easter egg hunt at this picnic.. but I think my little man was all tuckered out anyway..

Coy had the best first Easter a baby could ask for!!!!!

My six month old!!

Coy is finally 6 months! I can't even believe it.. half a year old, and already a little pill. No, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Coy is now figuring out how to roll over, and sit up all by himself. He is screamin like a little girl at the HIGHEST pitch, and can bring on those alligator tears like you can't believe. He loves licorice, graham crackers, dum dums and french toast. oh.. and everything else that can go or should I say fit into his mouth.. Hes just about to start tummy crawling if he could figure out how to go forward instead of backwards.. He absolutley loves riding the horses and cries when we pull him off of them.. I figure he'll be just like his daddy, cowboy as can be. He loves to see all the animals and if he can touch them.. the fur usually goes straight to the mouth.. or his fingers go in nostrils or eye balls... Boy.. he sure is growing up and learning so fast...

Feedin with Daddy

Last Thursday Coy and I went to feed the cows with Colby. So we packed Coy a bottle, diaper and whipes and some yummy treats, and we took off out the door. We got over to the corrals and Colby asked me to start the tractor for it to warm up. He fed the steers and the pigs while Coy and I climbed into the tractor. Finally he was done feeding the steers and we headed to the cows across the high way. well... being the curious little boy Coy is he decided the steering wheel was a great thing to play with, along with the throttle, and the gears. Oh and did I mention the knob that brings the bucket up and down?... It was interesting to watch him try to figure things out with his little tiny hands.. he had no clue what he was doing all he knew is that they were going to taste good if he could get them into his mouth. Colby and I laughed because he was trying so hard to reach the furthest knob. We finally got over to the cows and Coy had no idea what they were. He stared and stared at them and giggled and screamed! So Colby and I ran the tractor as we looked at the new calves and their moms. I told Colby that its crazy that animal babies grow so much faster than human babies..... We talked and laughed about a few things while watching Coy and  we talked about how much he had  grown in the last few weeks... He is almost 6 months this month.. where did half a year go? I just can't believe it... Finally we were done feed and the long ride home Colby said.. Its crazy hun... No matter what little kid it is. The tractor always puts them to sleep.....

Families Can Be Together Forever

This past weekend we had to go to a funeral and it was probably the best learning experience of my life. The funeral was for my great grandma her name was  Dorothy Caroline Johnson Nielson she was 93 years old. Her husband was buried in Bluff along with a ton of other Nielsons. Well we had to go over to Blanding Utah for the viewing and then to Bluff (ten minutes away from Blanding) for the funeral. My sister rode over with us and as we drove we talked about memories of playing in Blanding and how its crazy that our family was the big timers like the Jones,Pickering, Holts and Terrys in Enterprise.  We arrived a little late to Blanding that night so we got our rooms and just went to bed. The next morning we went to breakfast with my dad, his wife, and my brother and sister. We went to a restaurant called "The Old Timers".. in there were pictures everywhere of my ancestors from the1800s. Pictures from the Hand Cart Company pictures of Richard Jens Nielson (Founder of  Parowan and Bluff Utah) and his family. We left there and went to Bluff where my dad showed us the house he had grown up in,and the houses where Jens lived with his 2 wives. (He had 3 but 1 died in Cedar City and the other 2 lived in Bluff with him). After the funeral we went to the grave sight following the hurs. They layed my grandma down so sweetly next to her husband. They dedicated the grave sight and it was over. We kinda lingered around and looked at all the graves, and there in the fence was Richard Jens Nielson and his two wives and the head stone of his 3rd wife. Along with him was the grave of his son and I think a few other family members. I started to cry because the feeling of the spirit was so beautiful. It felt as if they were all standing near us, welcoming my grandma in to heaven. We took some family pictures while we were there and just enjoyed our selves and the feelings we all had. I have never learned something so heartfelt, and so precious... My dad told us a few more stories while we were in Monticelle that night at my Uncle R.T.'s house. It was so amazing to learn this and I knew that I needed to go or else we would have missed something as amazing as this. ( I dont have a picture of Coy with her, but this is my grandma Nielson with my niece and nephew, and our family picture while we were there)

Where did all the time go!? Colby and I were talking the other day about our little bundle.. Now he tries to talk to ya, hes attempting to roll over and sometimes.... he squeels like a little girl! Right now hes trying to help me type this!  Its just amazing how you can't imagine loving someone so much... They grow up way to fast!
