Our Thanksgiving!

Our Thanksgiving was soo much fun! The Sunday before Thankgiving we celebrated it with Colbys moms family. All her brothers came, It was awesome! Though, Thanksgiving isn't my favorite holiday, I enjoyed visiting with all her family! I just think they are great and awesome people to be around! Fawns mom and dad passed away in July and so they weren't there. But you could definitely feel the comfort of them being there still. So, we said a prayer and everyone began eating! Turkey, stuffing, fruit salads, cranberry sauce, corn.. you name it.. it was probably on the counter! After the dinner we all sat around and talked about the little ones until everyone left to go home. It was a great sunday!

Thanksgiving day

The day before Thanksgiving we traveled to price to see my dad and his wife Randi. Where we spent the night and celebrated Thanksgiving the next day. But the night before we were all sitting in the living room and all the kids were playing on the ground when I looked at my nephews shirt. On the front it said "shhh.... I have a secret." and on the back it said.." Im going to be a big brother".. I laughed and laughed because only my sister saw that I had noticed it. Then she went over to Eric and took him over to my dad. He read the shirt and didnt get it at first.. and then he caught on. It was awesome!! 2 new babies next year in my family are expected. Cody and Chandra due in Feb and Kayla and Kody due in July... The next morning we woke up and ate these awesome "sticky buns" that my step mom makes. They were simply amazing! After that we all started preparing for Thanksgiving dinner. We made all sorts of food again.! My grandma Nielson and my uncle John and his son showed up to celebrate with us. It was great to see them. I think we need to see them more often! After dinner we decided to play some games. Cover your Assets was the only one we played. and by golly  I thought I had the second game in the bank! Then low and behold Colby jumps out and beats us all!! After the games we decided to go to Wal Mart at 10 to do the whole "black friday" thing.. you talk about crazy! People in Price are interesting. I had a guy stare me down thinking was going to jump under the yellow plastic to steel his printer. Yea right.. The best thing about going that night was running into our good friends Brittany and Richard. It was funny to see them there, it was definitely crazy. Then.. 10 hit and everyone was going crazy grabbing things. Luckily everything I wanted wasnt even being touched.. so I grabbed the stuff we wanted and we checked out, got home and went to bed all before 10:30!
Friday morning we all decided we wanted to go to Provo and go shopping! It was sooo fun! We left about 8:30 because most of us could of cared less. I just wanted to buy jeans for me and clothes for Coy. and I got what I wanted. But... all the stores we went to looked like they had just been robbed! After lunch we went to Cabelas and shopped there a bit, then to Toys r Us we headed. We were there for like... 2 hours. It was insane. The shelves were basically bare! But we got Coy a book with the talking buttons on the side. He was soo happy. Unfortuneltly Eric, got sick so they didn't go to Cabelas or Toys R Us. Instead, they took a trip to the hospital. The poor little man had croup. After all the craziness Colby and I decided to head home from Provo. So after a 4 hour drive.. We were home! It was soo much fun. I cant wait for black friday next year. better start saving!

How we spent our Fall days!

Seems like we have been running everywhere lately. Coys first birthday was on August 28th 2011! What a blast. He was so spoiled with clothes and toys. We had cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and alot of friends came for his big day! The house was filled with laughter and happiness! We did a big BBQ and just hung out! He was scared to get into his cake after everyone screamed when he went to touch the candles, so he thought he was in trouble.. then I finally put his hand in it and he tore into it! It was alot of fun! Can't wait for next years!

After his first birthday our focus was on going to Boulder for the deer and elk hunt. While we were up there we celebrated Colbys 25th Birthday with Melt in your mouth cake and presents. He got binoculars and some coats and stuff. Id say it was a pretty good birthday to spend with family and close friends. He also got a deer on his birthday! Pretty good 4 point and I got a 3 by 4. As for the elk, no such luck. Them buggers are hard to find up there! But 2 weeks camping was awesome together! After the hunts we headed home and started planning our family pictures and Halloween! I was starting to get mad that the leaves were falling off the trees before I got the chance to take pictures in them. But luckily my mom took us to a place where we were able to take some pictures. They turned out pretty good I'd say!

Our Halloween was alot of fun for Coys first time! He was a Pilgram ghost. haha.. well technically he was just a ghost but the homemade outfit.. made him look like a Pilgram. It was pretty funny.  We took him out trick or treating and he loved it. He even said "boo!"

Stay this little....

Coy gets into EVERYTHING!!! Drawers, closets, toys, it doesnt matter what it is..and if there is a pile of something.. consider the pile destroyed... what can I say.. boys will be boys. He has such a little personality on him.. He can say  " Na," all the time.. and when we tell him no no no.. he does it while repeating.. Na Na Na.. We have tought him how to put money in the froggy bank, or the piggy bank .. (he has one from my mom and colbys dad).
He still struggles for the most part.. but seems to be getting the hang of it. He loves shakin it, and listening to the money inside.

Lately he  is learning his abc's and tries to sing along with his Alphabet Pal ( its a worm thing).. its hilarious...He can play patty cake and even roll his arms.. hes a very fast learner.. He's starting to blow kisses, even if hes talking during the kisses, at least you know hes giving them. He has tried to fold his arms during church.. but.. it only last for like 1.5 seconds... then someone distracts him and he laughs or screams, or just starts clapping...

He has been getting into all my drawers and cupboards in the kitchen from hotpads to bowls, to pots and pans.. He looks up and just laughs when he gets them out.. and then leaves them.. only sometimes will he try to put them away..
Lately he has had this fettish with taking off his clothes.. Im trying to teach him to stay in them.. but he pulls his socks off first.. then his shorts or pants, unless he is wearing a belt.. then he cries because he cant get them off. Then off with the shirt... I dont know where he learned this, but it was funny at first, and now its hard because he likes to do it while at the store!

He loves helping with the mail.. The other day I came home with the mail, and he decided to help me sort it..He scattered it, and ripped up the newspaper adds and everything else he could get ahold of.
He is growing up so fast, I cant wait to see the little man he becomes.

Almost 10 months!

Coy is currently 9 Months as of May 28th 2011, so hell sooon be 10 months this month! I can't believe how big he is getting!! He is such a boy already and boy does he know how to flirt!
Coy is currently....

Crawling around the house like a mad man
Squeeling like a little girl and grunting like a man
He can say "Pa Pa, Ma Ma, Da Da"
Hes learning how to follow all of your facial actions such as
snorting, eye brows, sticking out his tongue, and blowing with his lips together making farting noises,
He can clap his hands, but he mostly does it when people watch him and he wants a praise, or when he sees someone doing it, or even someone on tv doing it.
He can pull himself up on to anything and everything and walk along it...
Hes learned that the toilet can flush and its hilarious when it does.. and that the water is cool to touch... ew I know
Hes learned that when he wants something he will follow you around the house until you either give it to him or he has the chance to steel it.
He eats just about anything and everything that he wont choke on, his new favorites are:
pudding, otter pops, pop tarts, mac n cheese, spaghetti, and well.. just about everything else
He absolutely loves taking baths and always want them! He crawls to the tub and says "Ma Ma" which means I want a bath mom.
He loves riding the horses, playing on the grass and of course swimming! (if only we could get our pool up!)

Coy,

You have been the best thing has ever happened to your dad and I and we are sooo excited to watch your grow and help you learn as much as we can! We love you so much and your so special to us!

Easter Eggs and Sweet Treats!

This years Easter was a lot of fun with our families! My dad and his wife came down for the weekend and had a picnic! Coy loved it, even though his little nose and cheeks got a little sun!He enjoyed watching the water rush by him as we sat next to the bank enjoying our KFC, potatoe salad, olives and some super yummy cup cakes! We watched Jens, Justine, and Eric throw toys into the stream and down the water fall, and we really enjoyed watching my brother Cody and Kaylas husband Kody trying to get them out. Finally the Easter Egg Hunt!!!

Coy absolutely loved picking up the eggs, even though he never really figured out they needed to go into the basket before hitting his mouth... I think all of them have been Coyatized...
This blue egg was Coys favorite! Im not sure if he just like the feel of it on his gums or if he enjoyed the blue on his lips better! Every time we went to take it away Coy would get so upset that he wasnt chewing on it and  he would scream and then cry! We laughed and laughed for all the blue that was on his lips, tongue and his tiny fingers!
We then loaded up the vehicles and left. The picnic was over and Coy was so tired he slept for almost 3 hours! It was awesome! When he woke up we took off up to Pinto for the picnic time with Colby's family.. It was about 6 when we got there and the rain clouds moved in! So, we spent our time in the building with cousins where we ate, played games and told some stories of past get togethers. We also watched Tangled and gathered around the fire place. Unfortunetely this whole time Colby was gone to work so he didnt get to be with us this year for Easter, but he showed up at his dads picnic an hour earlier than he was suppose to! I was soooo happy! After Colby ate we visited for a few more minutes as his mom put Coy to sleep. Then we left because Colby had to get to bed because he had to work the next morning... When we got home we decided to give Coy his Easter basket that night so that Colby could enjoy being with him when he opened it up. Coy got, some T-shirts, a church outfit, and a whole ton of toys, oh and a toooonnnnn of candy!
I wanted to take a picture of colby, but he um... wasnt camera ready..at
all.. So.. here is Coy and I with his basket.. he got a ton more.. but it was scattered and it was all I could do to keep Coy from screaming from me taking him from it all! Finally.. after a bath, bottle and bed Coy crashed hard! He slept all night!!

Sunday morning came and my dad and his wife had stuff for him, they gave him more clothes! I couldnt believe it... this kid made out like a bandit! We then made some blueberry pancakes with my sister and her family and my dad and his wife. They were soooo yummy!!!! My sister and her family said their goodbyes to my dad and his wife and we got ready for church! We only went to sacrament but it was so spiritual, RueThella and Craig Laub did great! After church we said our goodbyes to my dad and his wife and got ready for another picnic! This time.. with my mom, her husband and my cousins. We drove down to Gunlock where we would be having the picnic. I got so carsick, and the two kids crashed out. Finally we got there!.. The wind was blowing and it was about to rain.. ugh... so we put up a tarp and all hung out underneith it. We ate cu all sorts of goodies until dinner time. We had steak, and potatoes and all sorts of other stuff. It was so good.. but the rain kept getting harder and harder then BBBBOOOMMM and CCCCRRASSSHHH the thunder and lightening came.. so.. we packed up the trucks and headed home... unfortunetely we werent able to have an easter egg hunt at this picnic.. but I think my little man was all tuckered out anyway..

Coy had the best first Easter a baby could ask for!!!!!

My six month old!!

Coy is finally 6 months! I can't even believe it.. half a year old, and already a little pill. No, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Coy is now figuring out how to roll over, and sit up all by himself. He is screamin like a little girl at the HIGHEST pitch, and can bring on those alligator tears like you can't believe. He loves licorice, graham crackers, dum dums and french toast. oh.. and everything else that can go or should I say fit into his mouth.. Hes just about to start tummy crawling if he could figure out how to go forward instead of backwards.. He absolutley loves riding the horses and cries when we pull him off of them.. I figure he'll be just like his daddy, cowboy as can be. He loves to see all the animals and if he can touch them.. the fur usually goes straight to the mouth.. or his fingers go in nostrils or eye balls... Boy.. he sure is growing up and learning so fast...

Feedin with Daddy

Last Thursday Coy and I went to feed the cows with Colby. So we packed Coy a bottle, diaper and whipes and some yummy treats, and we took off out the door. We got over to the corrals and Colby asked me to start the tractor for it to warm up. He fed the steers and the pigs while Coy and I climbed into the tractor. Finally he was done feeding the steers and we headed to the cows across the high way. well... being the curious little boy Coy is he decided the steering wheel was a great thing to play with, along with the throttle, and the gears. Oh and did I mention the knob that brings the bucket up and down?... It was interesting to watch him try to figure things out with his little tiny hands.. he had no clue what he was doing all he knew is that they were going to taste good if he could get them into his mouth. Colby and I laughed because he was trying so hard to reach the furthest knob. We finally got over to the cows and Coy had no idea what they were. He stared and stared at them and giggled and screamed! So Colby and I ran the tractor as we looked at the new calves and their moms. I told Colby that its crazy that animal babies grow so much faster than human babies..... We talked and laughed about a few things while watching Coy and  we talked about how much he had  grown in the last few weeks... He is almost 6 months this month.. where did half a year go? I just can't believe it... Finally we were done feed and the long ride home Colby said.. Its crazy hun... No matter what little kid it is. The tractor always puts them to sleep.....

Families Can Be Together Forever

This past weekend we had to go to a funeral and it was probably the best learning experience of my life. The funeral was for my great grandma her name was  Dorothy Caroline Johnson Nielson she was 93 years old. Her husband was buried in Bluff along with a ton of other Nielsons. Well we had to go over to Blanding Utah for the viewing and then to Bluff (ten minutes away from Blanding) for the funeral. My sister rode over with us and as we drove we talked about memories of playing in Blanding and how its crazy that our family was the big timers like the Jones,Pickering, Holts and Terrys in Enterprise.  We arrived a little late to Blanding that night so we got our rooms and just went to bed. The next morning we went to breakfast with my dad, his wife, and my brother and sister. We went to a restaurant called "The Old Timers".. in there were pictures everywhere of my ancestors from the1800s. Pictures from the Hand Cart Company pictures of Richard Jens Nielson (Founder of  Parowan and Bluff Utah) and his family. We left there and went to Bluff where my dad showed us the house he had grown up in,and the houses where Jens lived with his 2 wives. (He had 3 but 1 died in Cedar City and the other 2 lived in Bluff with him). After the funeral we went to the grave sight following the hurs. They layed my grandma down so sweetly next to her husband. They dedicated the grave sight and it was over. We kinda lingered around and looked at all the graves, and there in the fence was Richard Jens Nielson and his two wives and the head stone of his 3rd wife. Along with him was the grave of his son and I think a few other family members. I started to cry because the feeling of the spirit was so beautiful. It felt as if they were all standing near us, welcoming my grandma in to heaven. We took some family pictures while we were there and just enjoyed our selves and the feelings we all had. I have never learned something so heartfelt, and so precious... My dad told us a few more stories while we were in Monticelle that night at my Uncle R.T.'s house. It was so amazing to learn this and I knew that I needed to go or else we would have missed something as amazing as this. ( I dont have a picture of Coy with her, but this is my grandma Nielson with my niece and nephew, and our family picture while we were there)

Oh man oh man... how time flies, maybe a little to fast if you ask me. I can't believe about 5 months ago I was holding only a day old brand new baby boy. Now look, 5 months! Where did all the time go!? Colby and I were talking the other day about our little bundle.. Now he tries to talk to ya, hes attempting to roll over and sometimes.... he squeels like a little girl! Right now hes trying to help me type this!  Its just amazing how you can't imagine loving someone so much... They grow up way to fast!
